ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ Presents Haunted Trail Experience in October
![]() |
VALDOSTA — Campus Recreation invites students, faculty, staff, alumni, and brave community friends to step inside the scariest spot at ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ this Halloween season — Haunted Trail: Fred’s Final Ride.
ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ’s Haunted Trail experience is “a terrifying tribute to one of the university’s most infamous haunted characters — Fred, the towering 7-foot-tall Grim Reaper,” says Davy Shaw, recreation supervisor. It is open from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Oct. 16, 23, 26, 30 and from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Oct. 17, 18 at the ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ Center for Outdoor Recreational Experiences Challenge Course, 1300 Sustella Ave.
Admission is $10 per person. Ticket sales begin at 6:30 p.m. each night at the Red Cross Training Room located on the ground level of the Sustella Parking Deck. Advance tickets may be purchased weekdays at the Student Recreation Center. Ticket sales are limited each night to ensure every guest has a chance to complete the experience.
“This event plunges guests into a heart-pounding horror experience, winding through eight immersive scare zones — Foggy Graveyard, Witch’s Hollow, Abandoned Carnival, Cannibal Cabin, Mutant Swamp, Cult’s Ritual Circle, Cornfield of the Damned, and Fred’s Final Ride,” Shaw says.
“Each zone builds suspense as you inch closer to your final confrontation with Fred in a chilling farewell to his reign of terror.”
Due to the intense nature of this experience, Haunted Trail is not appropriate for children under the age of 13.
Haunted Trail: Fred’s Final Ride is staffed by ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ volunteers who are committed to making the Halloween season a memorable one for all who dare to brave the darkness. All proceeds benefit experiential learning opportunities for students.
“Join us for an exhilarating evening filled with fun, fright, and community spirit,” Shaw says. “We look forward to seeing everyone at Haunted Trail.”
Because this is an outdoor experience, Haunted Trail guests are advised to wear appropriate footwear and use insect repellant as desired.
